On a Budget?? No Problem!!

Many trends this season has caused many to want to buy new innovative sports attire. Although many of this trends are great, many women might want the look but might have a had time with their budget. We all know that sports attire can be very expensive and can really hurt your budget. We have come two places and prices that have trendy sports attire but that won’t  break your wallet.

The first place you would want to start is Forever 21. Their sports attire is named under the category “Active wear”. To start off they have very trendy sports bars that carry some trendy patterns and that are made in bright spring colors, which are very popular this season. They also have very cute tops that range from animal print to solid colors. And lastly they carry capris or shorts to work out in. They vary from length, color, and design. The prices are very moderate the start at five dollars to 20 dollars. This provides you to spend less yet you’re able to have more outfits.

The second place is Target. Like Forever 21 they have sports bras that provide the trend but not only the look but the performance. Some of the sports bras have more padding and support. They also carry bottoms that have the same different trends but yet perform better than the ones sold at Forever 21. The ones at Target provide water resistance. So that way you won’t spoil your clothes while having an intense work out. The price ranges from 10 dollars to 45 dollars. The price point is much higher for those products that provide a higher performance and quality.

Being on a budget doesn't have to be so hard. There are many retail stores that offer trendy and cute sports attire at a reasonable price. This pieces can be combined and can provide you with a large selection of activewear for your closet. -Monica Melara

Activewear Trends 2012

Whether you are taking a morning stroll, doing an intense workout at the gym, or if you're in the middle of Child's pose at yoga class it's always the worst when your athletic gear is distracting you from concentrating on your workout. Having confidence in your own skin is the key to living a happy and successful life; so why not wear clothing that flatters your body and makes you feel good while you work out?? Athletes today are all about having the perfect fit, fashion forward/unique styles, comfort, and fabrics that will enhance performance during exercise. Here are a few trends and things to look for while shopping for you new Work Out Wardrobe (WOW!):

1. Say good-bye to Saggy and Baggy clothing!!
Who would you rather look like running down the street??
Tighter fitting clothing that conforms to your body shape allows for more comfortable movement during work outs. These types of garments are known as Under Armour and are created specifically to enhance performance by decreasing fatigue, speed up recovery time, increase blood circulation, and transport moisture for the body regulating body temperature. (We also look cute in them :))

Companies such as Lululemon (one of my favorites!) have totally nailed the "Perfect fit" trend by creating a large assortment of cuts for us, similar to finding our perfect pair of jeans.

Shopping tip: While shopping for your form fitting clothing look out for Spandex and leggings/tights that are NOT tube-like. These will not provide you with the above qualities. Try them on to make sure they form to your body.
On a budget? : A couple great places to find legitimate gear are Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, and Nike Factory Outlets!

2. Moisture, Moisture, Moisture!
Moisture Wicking Technology
Moisture-wicking fabric simply means that the fibers move moisture away from the body allowing for sweat to evaporate. In comparison, cotton fabrics easily absorb our sweat causing discomfort to our bodies. Wearing moisture-wicking fabrics allow us to work out much more comfortably and much longer!
Shopping tip: Look at the labels and be sure that it states that it has a cotton/synthetic blend, or a purely synthetic one such as: Lyra, Spandex, and Nylon. The fabric should have a soft hand so take some time to try these garments on!

3. Sweaty no more...

Most activewear nowadays have Antimicrobial technologies that prevent the growth of bacteria and minimizes the gross, sweaty body odors we get during work outs. This technology exists both in cotton and synthetic fabrics, however, it is more apparent in synthetics.

4. Always On-the-Go

It isn't news that nowadays we find ourselves rushing to get workouts in either before, after, or in the middle of our busy work days. That's why one of the trends I've found is that we want our workout garments to be heavy-duty! We need stuff that can handle our hectic lifestyles and look good enough to pull off as an everyday outfit!

Shopping Tips: Look for pieces that have details and that have interchangeability! For ex: clothing that can transition from pants into shorts. Many designers and athletic wear companies have been trying to help us out by coming out with garments that have many pockets and details. Who wants to carry their keys, cell phones, and ipods during a work out??! Another important thing to think about is investing in a great, sturdy tote/carry all bag. Lululemon has amazing bags with moisture-wicking technology in the lining, lots of pocket and zipper detailing, and not to mention incredibly fashion forward design!

5. Fashion Forwardness!!

Lorna Jane Black's Line of Premium Activewear

I think it's safe to say that most of us are getting a little bored with the same old black and white colors  for most work out gear, so why not spice up your Work Out Wardrobe and start looking into the new unique and innovative styles that are out there! Designers have been designing pieces in brighter colors, with bold and fun prints, and unique detailing!

Shopping Tip: Companies such as Lucy Activewear, Lululemon, Nike, and Marika have some really great apparel with the latest trends in activewear.

Hope you enjoyed!!
